Create memories and get energy into the winter break with this tour to end the season!

We ride with small groups on nice roads in the Lake Siljan area and we lit a camp fire when stopping for coffee.

In the evenings we hang out at the farm Effersgårdenwhere the atmosphere always sets in!

About the ride

Oct 2, 2025 we start the weekend in Insjön at Effersgården with a dinner at the farm.
For 2025 we add 1 extra day so we have two full days on the bike during Friday and Saturday and a half day of riding on Sunday.
The type of accommodation is optional and you can choose between a hotel or staying in your own camper or tent at Effersgården. We have pre-booked rooms at Insjöns Hotell if desired. You choose how you want to stay when registering. Accomodation is paid on site.
We offer homemade Sweidish Fike during breaks in the forest.
We stop at restaurants for lunch during the tours and we eat dinner in Insjön at the farm Effersgården.
We ride about 250 kilometers per full day but adjust according to weather.
The level of the tour is with a mix of Gravel Touring and Adventure Touring which you can read about further down the page.
Price: 2950 SEK. Accommodation and food are not included in the price. The participation fee is divided into a Registration Fee (500 SEK) which is paid to confirm your place on the tour and a Final Payment (2450 SEK) 1.5 months before the tour.

The weekend's programme

Thursday 2 Oct We meet in Insjön for a nice evening with a barbecue and hanging out in a lovely atmosphere at Rebecca’s parental farm Effersgården. You are welcome from 6 pm and from 7 pm we will have the barbecue running. At 8 pm we will have a review of the weekend’s tour.
Friday 3 Oct Full day on the bike in the beautiful Siljansbygden in autumn colors with lunch at a restaurant. In the evenings we will have a well-deserved dinner and talk about the day and future adventures.
Saturday 4 Oct Full day on the bike and if you feel tired there is always the possibility to shorten the tour and instead hang out on the farm a little earlier.
The tours are adapted to the weather and in 2025 the goal is to weave in more visits to interesting and worthwhile places.
Sunday 5 Oct Start with breakfast at the hotel before we head out on the gravel roads for a shorter turn. We will be back in Insjön around lunch.

Höstgruset - The Experience

The autumn gravel road has grown in popularity and riding a bike through forests in beautiful autumn colors is special! Even though the season is not quite over, it is a nice meeting place where we both talk about what has been and what we are aiming for next year.

Since last year, we have had farm Effersgården in Insjön as our base and that is where we hang out in the evenings.

As you will notice, going on an arranged tour is a completely different thing compared to a regular tour on the gravel roads. Here memories, acquaintances and inspiration are created.

We will ride on nice gravel roads and choose carefully to get a varied tour that offers something for everyone.

The cohesion of the tour is prioritized and we look forward to going on a tour with like-minded adventure riders!

The level of Höstgruset is a mix of Gravel Touring and Adventure Touring which means that we take it easy and stick to good gravel roads even if they can be small in some cases. Normally we ride with different groups and continuously adapt to the needs and conditions of the group.

We ride with different groups and adapt the route choices during the day to the conditions of the group. Normally we navigate using Cornerman but we are flexible and adapt this as needed. You do not need any prior knowledge of Cornerman or your own navigation equipment.

It is about a 10 minute walk between the hotel and the farm so in 2025 there will be the opportunity to ride behind the tractor from the hotel to the food on the farm.

Accommodation and food are not included in the price and you can choose how you want to sleep. You can stay in a hotel, in a camper/caravan or in your own tent at the farm Effersgården.

We eat dinner at Effersgården for a cost price that is paid on site.

We have pre-booked a hotel that is paid on site. The cost of the hotel is 1195 SEK/night for a single room and 1395 SEK/night for a double room including breakfast and bed linen.

Camping at Effersgården costs 100 SEK/night in service costs for electricity, water and toilet. You can arrange breakfast yourself or eat at the hotel with the other participants.

To join the tour, you need an adventure bike with tires suitable for gravel roads. We recommend a coarser pattern on the front tire and if you are faced with the choice, you can always contact us if you have any questions about the bike, tires or what to bring.

The bike must be insured and legal to ride in traffic and must not have an open muffler. We do not allow passengers on this tour.

Before the tour, we invite you to a meeting on Zoom where we present the tour, what it might be good to pack and you as a participant will have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know the others who will be on the tour.

In order to carry out this tour, we need at least 7 participants. If the tour is fully booked, we will create a waiting list and return in order of available places. In the event that the tour is canceled, this will be announced no later than 21 days before the tour and a full refund will be made.

Effersgården - Where we have the base

Effersgården is a farm that has been in Rebecca’s family for over 200 years and it has been everything from a bus garage, spice sales, dairy farm and now it grows everything from tomatoes to tobacco.

Now the land is farmed by Matts Rickardsson and the farm is run by boarding horses, vegetable growing, ski tracks and various fun ideas you will see on site.

The atmosphere at the farm is special and, to say the least, unpretentious and relaxed so feel at home and unwind here!

Dalarnas best gravel roads around lake Siljan

The road network with gravel roads in the area is extensive and depending on which direction we go, there will be different character both on roads and surroundings. The surface of the roads ranges from large hard fine gravel roads to smaller roads of more challenging style.

There are, of course, barriers in the area, but they are usually only closed during the time of thawing.

The Siljan region offers both special places and scenery that was shaped by the meteorite impact that formed the area 365 million years ago. As well as Siljan being 134 metres deep, there are heights of up to 650 metres above sea level that can be reached on gravel roads.

Fäbodvallar and the red houses with narrow streets through villages are also typical landmarks in this part of Sweden.

DALEXS philosophy

Creating a route to ride can be done by many, but creating a complete experience with cohesion and added value that you remember with warmth, that is what we strive to create.

The Code of Conduct is the foundation of our activities and it describes how we behave on tour. In short, the Code of Conduct describes how we respect the roads we travel on and the residents in the areas where we move. We want to leave the smallest possible footprint behind us to create a sustainable motorcycle culture on the gravel roads.

Our strength is that you as a participant feel safe both socially and while driving.

The experience should be developing and exciting, so we continuously read the needs of the participants and adapt continuously so that everyone gets the level of excitement that is needed but without exceeding the level.

A non-prestige atmosphere is the key to interesting conversations and honest feedback. We have no need to show off, we want to meet you and create a nice experience.

When the participant rolls home after the tour, it should be with a smile from a nice experience and with new acquaintances, then we have succeeded!

The Guides

DALEXS has a team of assistant guides who help with the tours who are all very experienced and share the same approach as us. It varies who helps but we can promise that whatever the case, they add value with their personal style and experience. Below are a few of the people you may meet on Dalex tours.

Anders

Anders startade DALEXS 2021 efter att ha haft en dröm om att guida resor och få människor att utvecklas och dela upplevelser med likasinnade.

DALEXS har sin bas i Mora även om Anders är uppväxt på Västkusten. Utöver hojåkningen är det friluftsliv, fiske och enduro som är dom stora intressena.

Rebecca

Rebecca är inte är rädd för nya aktiviteter och utmaningar. Med uppväxten på en gård i Insjön är Rebecca van att fixa det mesta. Ofta är det Rebecca som tar tät på DALEXS turer.

Utöver adventureåkningen är det enduro, friluftsliv och sportfiske som tar upp den mesta fritiden.

Olle

Olle är ofta med och myser i bakgrunden men tar också tät ibland. Olle har blivit mångas favorit att åka med och hans mjuka körstil och lugna personlighet är helt i linje med Dalexs.

Utöver adventureåkningen är det enduro, fysträning och livet på gården med familjen som tar upp den mesta fritiden.

Elving

Elving behöver ingen presentation, han är en legend i denna världen och lika mysig att ha med på tur. Elving är både med som guide och deltagare och fungerar som vår mentor där dom flesta av våra ideer ventileras innan dom blir verklighet för deltagare.

Utöver adventureåkningen är det fiske och barnbarnen som är i fokus.

Gravel Touring

We ride good and nice gravel roads and visit places of interest. There is always time for coffee and the focus is to have nice days out. We avoid roads that are soft or rutted. The pace is leisurely, Gravel Touring allows you to ride without getting sweaty and the social aspect is a big part of these tours.

Adventure Touring

A mix of road types where we also ride on smaller forest roads that may be in poorer condition. We have no stress and the speed is adapted to the group but you should have coarse-patterned tyres for poorer gravel roads. Places of interest are woven in but the tour’s goal is also to ride smaller roads and develop as a driver. In Adventure Touring, you can get sweaty and dirty even if the coffee breaks are obvious elements.

Adventure Riding

Here the focus is on the driving and we travel smaller roads with challenging elements or other forms of challenges. We weave in visits to places of interest, but that is not the primary goal of the tour. These tours can be felt in the body and you are guaranteed to get sweaty. The days can be a bit long so Adventure Riding is not suitable for everyone. The level places greater demands on both drivers, equipment and navigation skills.
