Welcome to the smallest tour of the year in terms of the number of participants!

We run a group for women only with female guides and one mixed group on this tour where we do a lap around the outer edges of Siljansringen with stops for coffee at both interesting and cozy places that show traces of the meteorite impact that shaped the area 365 million years ago.

Youre luggage is transported by Dalexs between the locations where we stay.

About the ride

Gravel tour with three days of riding and accommodation at campsites as we round the Siljan Ring.
Separate tour group only for women with female guides!
Nice hangout on Thursday evening at Effersgården before we roll out on the tour.
We stop at places of interest and cultural history during the weekend.
Accommodation is primarily in your own tent at campsites but we have pre-booked accommodation under a roof if you prefer (first come, first served).
We stop at restaurants for lunch during the tours and dinner is available for purchase in connection with where we sleep.
The luggage is transported by car between the sleeping places.
We travel about 25 miles per full day.
Price: 2950 SEK. Accommodation and food are not included in the price. The participation fee is divided into a Registration fee (500 SEK) which is paid to confirm your place on the tour and a Final payment (2450 SEK) 1.5 months before the tour.

The weekend's programme

Thursday 12 June We meet in Insjön for a nice evening with barbecue and hang out in a lovely atmosphere at Rebecca’s parent farm Effersgården. You are welcome from 18.00 and from 19.00 we have the barbecue going. At 20.00 we have a review of the weekend’s tour.
Friday 13 June Full day on the bike in beautiful Siljansbygden with lunch at a restaurant. In the evening we have a well-deserved dinner and talk about the day and future adventures.
Saturday 14 June Full day on the bike as we move in the area north of Siljan where few people live and the expanses are all the greater.
Sunday 15 June The last day of the tour is a little shorter and we aim to be back in Insjön just after lunch but on the way there we ride nice roads and stop for coffee at places of interest.

Gravel roads around Lake Siljan - The experience

Welcome to a new tour with DALEXS where we run a separate group only for women led by women! The men are welcome in a separate mixed group.

We will ride nice roads in our home area around Siljan and we visit places worth seeing with viewpoints, cultural history and where we see traces of the meteorite impact that created Siljan and the area 365 million years ago.

We will ride through different types of nature and pass through both villages that are typical of Dalarna as well as pastures in the forest where the animals run loose.

The skill level needed to participate in Siljansgruset is a mix of Gravel Touring and Adventure Touring which means that we take it easy and stick to good gravel roads even though they can be small in some cases.

This is a tour for those who want to ride on mostly gravel roads in beautiful areas with other participants in an unpretentious atmosphere.

If you want to learn more about outdoor life with tips on tents and packing for your own trip, this is a perfect opportunity to ask questions and gain experience!

Before we go on the trip, we have pre-booked hotel rooms Thursday-Friday at Insjöns Hotell. If this is desired, please indicate it when registering. Single room costs SEK 1195 and double room SEK 1395 for two people.

The accomodation during the tour is located at two campsites and primarily we stay in tents. If you prefer to stay in a cottage or hostel, we have pre-booked a couple of places that you can book in connection with the registration. Note that accomodation is paid separately by each guest where we live.

We transport your luggage between the places where we spend the night. At the campsites, we have a large tents for common evening hangout and breakfast.

This tour will have similarities with our first tour in 2021 that set the foundation for what Dalexs is today and by 2025 we look forward to creating greater added value in addition to riding a bike in beautiful surroundings!

The daily stages range from about 250 km on Friday and Saturday and about 140 km on Sunday. On Sunday, the tour ends at Effersgården in Insjön just after lunch so there is the opportunity to continue the journey home.

On this trip we take a maximum of 12 people divided into 6 women and 6 men. When the tour is fully booked, we create a queue list and we will return if places become available.

Safety is important and on DALEXS tours and before departure we do a safety briefing on how to act in the event of an incident and there is always a guide with first aid training and GPS transmitter for the possibility of alerting even without telephone reception.

Breakfast is organised by Dalexs, which we serve it under the tent. Of course we have typical Swedish Fike also when stopping for a break during the ride!

Food (lunch & dinner) and accommodation are not included. Campsite is pre-booked for tents, but if you want accommodation in a cottage or hostel, this is booked in connection with registration subject to availability.

Effersgården - Where we have our base

Effersgården is a farm that has been in Rebecca’s family for over 200 years and it has been everything from a bus garage, spice sales, dairy farm and now it grows everything from tomatoes to tobacco.

Now the land is farmed by Matts Rickardsson and the farm is run by boarding horses, vegetable growing, ski tracks and various fun ideas you will see on site.

The atmosphere at the farm is special and, to say the least, unpretentious and relaxed so feel at home and unwind here!

Dalarnas best gravel roads around lake Siljan

The road network with gravel roads in the area is extensive and depending on which direction we go, there will be different character both on roads and surroundings. The surface of the roads ranges from large hard fine gravel roads to smaller roads of more challenging style.

There are, of course, barriers in the area, but they are usually only closed during the time of thawing.

The Siljan region offers both special places and scenery that was shaped by the meteorite impact that formed the area 365 million years ago. As well as Siljan being 134 metres deep, there are heights of up to 650 metres above sea level that can be reached on gravel roads.

Fäbodvallar and the red houses with narrow streets through villages are also typical landmarks in this part of Sweden.

Creating a route to ride can be done by many, but creating a complete experience with cohesion and added value that you remember with warmth, that is what we strive to create.

The Code of Conduct is the foundation of our activities and it describes how we behave on tour. In short, the Code of Conduct describes how we respect the roads we travel on and the residents in the areas where we move. We want to leave the smallest possible footprint behind us to create a sustainable motorcycle culture on the gravel roads.

Our strength is that you as a participant feel safe both socially and while driving.

The experience should be developing and exciting, so we continuously read the needs of the participants and adapt continuously so that everyone gets the level of excitement that is needed but without exceeding the level.

A non-prestige atmosphere is the key to interesting conversations and honest feedback. We have no need to show off, we want to meet you and create a nice experience.

When the participant rolls home after the tour, it should be with a smile from a nice experience and with new acquaintances, then we have succeeded!

The Guides

DALEXS has a team of assistant guides who help with the tours who are all very experienced and share the same approach as us. It varies who helps but we can promise that whatever the case, they add value with their personal style and experience. Below are a few of the people you may meet on Dalex tours.

Anders

Anders startade DALEXS 2021 efter att ha haft en dröm om att guida resor och få människor att utvecklas och dela upplevelser med likasinnade.

DALEXS har sin bas i Mora även om Anders är uppväxt på Västkusten. Utöver hojåkningen är det friluftsliv, fiske och enduro som är dom stora intressena.

Rebecca

Rebecca är inte är rädd för nya aktiviteter och utmaningar. Med uppväxten på en gård i Insjön är Rebecca van att fixa det mesta. Ofta är det Rebecca som tar tät på DALEXS turer.

Utöver adventureåkningen är det enduro, friluftsliv och sportfiske som tar upp den mesta fritiden.

Olle

Olle är ofta med och myser i bakgrunden men tar också tät ibland. Olle har blivit mångas favorit att åka med och hans mjuka körstil och lugna personlighet är helt i linje med Dalexs.

Utöver adventureåkningen är det enduro, fysträning och livet på gården med familjen som tar upp den mesta fritiden.

Elving

Elving behöver ingen presentation, han är en legend i denna världen och lika mysig att ha med på tur. Elving är både med som guide och deltagare och fungerar som vår mentor där dom flesta av våra ideer ventileras innan dom blir verklighet för deltagare.

Utöver adventureåkningen är det fiske och barnbarnen som är i fokus.

Gravel Touring

We ride good and nice gravel roads and visit places of interest. There is always time for coffee and the focus is to have nice days out. We avoid roads that are soft or rutted. The pace is leisurely, Gravel Touring allows you to ride without getting sweaty and the social aspect is a big part of these tours.

Adventure Touring

A mix of road types where we also ride on smaller forest roads that may be in poorer condition. We have no stress and the speed is adapted to the group but you should have coarse-patterned tyres for poorer gravel roads. Places of interest are woven in but the tour’s goal is also to ride smaller roads and develop as a driver. In Adventure Touring, you can get sweaty and dirty even if the coffee breaks are obvious elements.

Adventure Riding

Here the focus is on the driving and we travel smaller roads with challenging elements or other forms of challenges. We weave in visits to places of interest, but that is not the primary goal of the tour. These tours can be felt in the body and you are guaranteed to get sweaty. The days can be a bit long so Adventure Riding is not suitable for everyone. The level places greater demands on both drivers, equipment and navigation skills.
